The article, Factors Correlated with Bicycle Commuting: A Study in Six Small U.S. Cities, seems like it's going to be awesome/helpful. It's like 20 something pages, but hey, I got this!

i like that it asks (and says it will answer) How important is social support in encouraging bicycle commuting?

--> I thought maybe that could be the focus of all this. Not an explainatiuon of bicycle commuting (boringness), instead figuring out what it takes to get more ppl to do it and why ppl decide to! yea, i like that :)

Cycling It Is.

Did some researching about bicycles:

The information is a lot easier to come by and I was able to, kind of, decide what exactly I wanted to write about within the broad subject of bicycling: Bicycle Commuting.

the benefits it has to the people doing it and society/planet as well.
why people do it/what makes them want to
why ppl don't do it
evironmental aspects-- "bikefriendliness"
and how to commute safely/best

I might throw a little history of the bicycle in there. ehh, we'll see.

Choosing

I don't particularly care too much about one specific thing. I'm pretty indifferent. I care some about a lot of things. (idk if this is bad, but nothing really matters that much to me). Choosing in general is a hard task for me, especially when it comes to research papers. I never quite know what topic/issue I should write about.

Originally, I made up my mind that I'd write about something to do with firefighting--my dream/ideal career path. I narrowed it down to a two specific issues (Psychological Affects of the job or African American and Women firefighters). Two decent, interesting topis that i could find source material on.

But, I think they're stiff; informative but stiff. (i think research papers in general are stiff, though)

Stiff writing bores me.
I don't want to bore me (or anyone else).

So,  long story short. Ha! I may change my research paper topic to something more fun. Something I enjoy doing. Something I care some about.

BICYCLING!

We'll see where this goes... I may change my mind again.
Oh, indifference, you plague me.

I'm just posting to post

My 489ENG professor wants the class to post their research paper progress in blog format. Interesting! (take that however you'd like) I just created this account, picked an awesomely basic background, and created my first post. Check me out!
